Just some random info:

Our parents and puppies are nice quality and have the characteristics a shih tzu should have in our opinion & the looks we love and strive for. We strive for quality with short backs, short legs, small high smooshed in noses, nice tail tucks, babydoll faces, and nice thick full coats.

In most pictures of our parents they will have short hair because I like to keep them trimmed shorter but they have nice long thick coats as well.

It is extremely hard to find nice quality shih tzus nowadays unfortunately. People during covid thought it was "easy money" and just started breeding whatever they got that was cheap not caring about quality or what the characteristics shih tzu are suppose to have along with health etc and have done a lot of damage to the shih tzu breed to where now it is hard to find anything of quality and now people don't know what they are supose to look for and the looks they are suppose to have. So please be very picky who you get your baby from to help preserve the breed and only support breeders that are raising them with love, heart and care the way it is suppose to be. There are always cheaper babies out there but the better the quality they are the more they will cost if you are getting them from a true reputable breeder. A lot of times when you get cheaper babies it is from people that have many many of dogs having babies all the time and that is NOT how it should be and should not be supported. Those are ones that want quantity over quality and that is totally opposite from what we are. So please be careful. The puppies/dogs that are low quality with characteristics they are not suppose to have compare the looks of those and then with ours and you will see what im talking about. If you ever have any questions about a puppy you are getting even from another breeder we are here to help and can let you know my honest opinion.  A lot of work and time goes into raising babies a lot more work than one thinks. Many sleepless nights. The saying putting in your all in it and putting your blood, sweat and tears is a light way of saying it. I love what we do and what we have become but it sure didn't come easy but it is oh so worth it. I do not advertise our babies as show quality but to us they are a very nice quality and have characteristics shih tzus are suppose to have and are the absolute sweetest, loving, bubbly little ones you will ever come across.

Our babies can range around 6-9 lbs when full grown. So will be small, short and cobby build & body shape. We *do not* guarantee a specific adult weight for our puppies nor a specific adult color as shih tzus like to change color from babies to adult. Our dogs size ranges are a great size for shih tzus. It is not too big but not to small. The perfect size to be able to carry around easily, get the best snuggles, bathe easy etc. This size is really great for families with kids as well as you do not want a tiny tiny shih tzus with small bones around kids. It also cuts down health risks that super tiny dogs are known to have . This is the size you should aim for.

We do have a deposit contract & a final sales contract. Our deposits are nonrefundable. You get a copy of both a deposit contract if you put a deposit down and a copy the final sales contract in you binder at pick up. If we feel the future home is not a good fit for any reason we have the right to cancel the deposit and will refunded it at that time. When we meet when they are ready to go, you will get a copy of the final sale contract, the puppys vet papers with the vets notes, shot and worming records, a container of science diet food they are eating to get started, a puppy pad, a fun little toy, registration papers if registered, a blanket, a huge binder with lots of info that we go over when we meet and some other things. Our puppies are sold on a spay / neuter contract no breeder homes unless discussed otherwise please :)

What We Feed :
We feed science diet small & petite for both our adults & puppies. We have really liked how much the babies and adults have done on it and they seem to really love it as well. The cost is good not crazy expensive but from what we have heard and researched, the ingredients seem really good as well with lots of nutrients etc... It is easy to find at your local pet stores or online on cheesy etc. Your welcome to switch the puppys food to whatever food your prefer but we have been very happy with science diet.

Puppy pads:

For what we use for puppy pads is actually not puppy pads at all. We use disposable bed pads that are for people that are bed ridden. These are xl ones from walmart in the pharmacy area. In my opinion they are cheaper then regular puppy pads and do not leak like regular puppy pads do. We also have started using the washable dog or people bed pads from amazon etc. Not a specific brand but what we have used we have really liked and all you do is wash them and good to go again. Easy to clean etc. We use those on their play pen area with a disposable one for their main potty area. Our babies do not go outside till they have all or most shots. They are indoors in our home from birth till they go to their new families. When they are born mom and babies stay in my bedroom beside my bed to be able to keep a eye on them at all times during the night etc. Once three weeks old, they will move into the living room where they go into their huge xxl play plan area. It is a huge area with washable carpet and washable pads on top of it with their baby play gym with toys hanging on it along with a lot of loose toys around as well. When little older we will start introducing a crate within their playpen for only night time and when we are not home. Crate training is very important for them to know whether you choose to use one in the future or not. It is good for them to know incase of any emergency situations. So we do start this for them to know what a crate is etc if they are still here at that time. Our parents for our program also know what a crate is and stay in there only at night and when we are not home and free run of the house the rest of the day. We do not let our babies touch the ground inside or outside till they have more shots or all 5 of their shots to be able to keep them as safe and protected as possible from any germs etc. Unfortunately parvo and other illnesses are SUPER easy to bring into your home. Even walking through the store and then walking into your home you can bring it home on your shoes or clothing so i rather be safe then sorry. Our babies are only ever in their play pen area, on the couch or bed with us. We have also gotten a outdoor play area with a huge artificial grass rug that's fenced in for only our babies to be on to have outdoor time on nice days. It sounds a lot but i rather be safe then sorry and our babies health is a huge priority for us. They still have lots of running and playing area. I also strongly advise if you ever get a baby * DO NOT * put the baby down at vets offices always hold them, hold them in pet stores no putting them on the ground or in shopping carts etc and keep them away from areas with lots of foot and dog traffic till they have most or all 5 puppy shots.

Dog treats:
Shih tzus are unfortunately prone to anal gland issues so you want to keep protein on the lower side. Do treats are crazy high in this. So to help and for a healthier option is to make your own!! super fun !! you can steam Broccoli, Sweet potato's, green beans, bell peppers. You can also give blue berries, carrots and cucumbers as well. All healthy and yummy!! You can also bake your own treats for some family fun time. Those are a lot healthier then store bought ones just google recipes and there are a lot of them on there :)
Puppy play pen & toys options:
Some different options for play pens to keep babies in till they are fully covered with all 5 shots is a xxl baby play pen with bottom and net sides. you can find these on marketplace all the timer super cheap. the fabric can normally come off to be washed. i would also still use washable pee pads on the bottom. Then you can set it up with they dog bed and toys etc. Your can also get short metal dog pen panels and then put a larger washable pads under it and same set up to make as large as you want i think they come in panel options of 8, 12,18, 28 or somthing like that. i advise to get the shorter and longer ones so its easier to reach over etc. Now for toys i like getting hard baby play gyms and hang dog toys or even human baby toys (soft with no har small pieces) and will hang them on it. They love playing with that. Cat tunnels are always loved running through them all the time. When looking to buy toys i always seem to feel like they love soft smaller toys then the hard large toys or soft rubber toys not the hard ones and of course toys the squeak and crinkle are always a fav. I like to get toys and TJ Max , Marshals, Home goods, Burlington, ross etc. They seem to have a lot of better options of small soft toys and small soft rubber toys then pet stores. They are also great prices and have a lot of super cute assecories for dogs and dog beds etc. So deffenetly check there when getting supplies first. Collars and leashes i honestly say temu has really cutes nice ones and good quality and prices from what i have seen but always check their reviews for pics etc and measurements. They also have some on there you can customize and engrave their name and number etc on the collar itself so super neat. Also dog tags you can customize on there as well and that is very important to have incase the dog ever gets away and please please alway microchip your babies and register the chip!! If you crate you dog take their collar off before they go in as you do not want their dog tag to get stuck and hung up on things.
Grooming :
Honestly for grooming what we use is blue dawn dish soap. It can be used on all ages. Put it on let it sit for 5 min then wash off really good. It can only be the blu no other color. Some say this can dry ou their skin but i have never had that issue and have been using this for years for all our adults and babies. You can also use oatmeal shampoo for their skin is always good. Our dogs so far have never had any skin allergies or issues. I advise to wash around every 2/3 weeks or as needed. It is always good to keep a constant for them to learn and know it and to behave well during it. Nail trimming as well whenever they start to feel sharp and longer trim them. I use people nail trimmers and just trim the tip. Always have some quick stop powder for dogs and if you cut to short just put some powder on it and it will be ok. Trimming always keep their hair around their eyes , in their ear, around their bum and feet trimmed. Shih tzus are easy to get eye ulcers with their hair poking their eyes so you can to trim a sunburst shape around their noses away from their eyes. It can be a trial and error of grooming but remember hair grows back and you can do it lol. If you are not comfortable grooming yourself you can always find a local groomer to groom your baby but make sure they are highly recommended and know the trims and how to trim a shih tzu with proper looks normally they would go every 4-6 weeks or so. Also i am really liking the Cowboy Magic from tsc for smooth silky hair detangler when washing you just add it in and wash or our leave some in. It last a long time and has done great on long thick hair.

Deworming & Flea prevention:
Unfortunately both fleas and worms are very common in puppies and dogs. Both you can get meds at your vet for. However you can also do this at home. Wormer you can do yourself and buy safeguard or nemex2 at TSC or you can order wormer off of amazon. when babies they get wormer more often as worms are more common at that age. They get it every 3 weeks or so till they get their last 5th shot then you don't do it as often more around every three to six months after that. If you ever see worms in you dog or puppies poo DO NOT FREAK OUT!! Remember worms/ intestinal parasites are very common and can be treated easily. Find out what type of worm and you ate can dewarm them or you can deworm them with whatever wormer if needed for that type of worm etc. For flea treatments you can get it from you vet or chewy it is good to get something that is for fleas and ticks and heartworms as all of those are very common and part of having animals. You can also order flea meds from Canada and Australia without having a vet prescription or check up. They are also also a lot cheaper but takes longer for them to come in (few weeks). If you want those sites let me know and i can send you the websites we have used before or have heard other recommend. The blue dawn dish soap can also help kill any fleas on your dogs you wet the dog put the soap on and let it sit for 5 min or so then rinse off and do this every few weeks to get any other that hatch. Please be very careful to treat your yard as it can be poisons for you dog and no oil defusers around your dog either.
